Mica, a mineral of the phyllosilicate family, is characterised by its laminate structure, metallic brilliance and resistance to high temperatures. Splitting mica along its cleavage yields thin, uniform, film-like layers that are flexible and translucent.Widely used in industry for its electrical-insulation properties, MicaPaper also provides thermal insulation in furnaces and has applications in the optics industry. MicaPaper is available in sheets (standard thicknesses: 0.3 / 0.4 x 0.5 mm) or blocks (1000 x 1000 mm and 1000 x 2000 mm).The blocks can be cold-moulded.The material can withstand temperatures up to 1200°C.
